2024 International Competition Winners
Excellence in sports photography: highlights from the 7th International Competition

The Gruissan Sport Photo Festival, a leading international sports photography event, reveals the winners of its 2024 competition.
This year, nearly 450 photographers from 52 countries participated, submitting over 3,000 photos that captured the very essence of sport and its emotions.
This rigorous selection is the result of the work of an eight-expert jury that met in Paris on October 24th.
The Awards Ceremony: an exceptional event
The Gruissan SportPhoto Festival invites the public (registration required) and professionals to a gala evening on November 22nd, 2024. The awards ceremony, with a total prize pool of 10,000 euros, will be held from 6:30 PM at the Pierre Richard Cinema in Gruissan.

Winners of the 2024 International Competition
Grand Prize

A blind framing, trying to guess where the surfer will emerge from the wave, until he appears. There he is, being propelled several meters high, suspended between sky and sea with unmatched lightness. He points to the sky as if he could touch it, a movement that seems to defy gravity, taking surfing to new heights.

This story about people who fallen into a difficult life situation. People who don't give up and find opportunity for a full life. Surgeries, rehabilitation, depression and despair led them to the search for another ways and other meaning for life in new circumstances. The top of the self-sacrificing desire to conquer the tragic situation for them becomes a playing in basketball. For people who braving itself and who coming to the sports ground to fight and win it’s a kind of challenge to fate.

In the village of Seilhac, Corrèze, the local café houses a boxing ring set up by former professional boxer Gilles Martin. His students, all former inmates in rehabilitation, alternate between working at the bar-restaurant and rebuilding their lives through sport.
